 Taking into account quality standards, professional ethics, health of workers, society and the environment by developing continuing medical education and participating in local and international scientific conferences

The headquarters of the department is located at the Faculty of Medicine, Gharyan University, within the administration building of the Faculty of Medicine, the first floor, and the department's office in Gharyan Central Hospital, the first floor, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Vision


Department of Women, Faculty of Medicine, Gharyan University, studies the principles and basics of obstetrics and gynecology sciences for the medical student to qualify him to practice specialization and supervise the treatment of cases with skill and mastery

The department aspires to develop medical education and its vocabulary in women and follow modern and advanced scientific methods and make the student receive the curriculum in a practical way and not only theoretical

Mission


The department is committed to providing a distinguished educational, research and community service in the field of obstetrics and gynecology at the local and regional levels through advanced study and research programs, in light of the mission of the Faculty of Medicine to teach and practical, research and applied training and develop skills in various fields of obstetrics and gynecology in order to prepare a distinguished student in the undergraduate and postgraduate stages with high skill and experience to compete in the internal and external labor market.

Goals


The department seeks to:


· Introducing students to the basic principles and concepts in obstetrics and gynecology and its various branches.

· Providing students with the clinical skills necessary to diagnose and treat obstetrics and gynecology diseases

· The student should be able to deal with obstetrics and gynecology emergencies

· Participation in scientific seminars and national conferences aimed at improving and raising health awareness among citizens.

· Clinical training through work at Gharyan Central Teaching Hospital, with the aim of providing the student with the clinical skills necessary for diagnosis and treatment, including the following:

· How to take a medical history for different cases and benefit from it to arrive at a diagnosis of the disease

· Training on how to conduct a clinical examination in terms of vital signs and various measurements, and examine various body systems.· Discussing cases and training the student on how to derive different diagnoses, based on the medical history and clinical examination.

· Training students to be able to choose the medical tests necessary to reach a final diagnosis.

· Graduating scientifically qualified doctors with the latest information in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology

· Work on developing the curriculum vocabulary for obstetrics and gynecology to keep pace with modern developments in this field

· Working to develop the capabilities and skills of faculty members in developing the educational process and scientific research in the department

· Contributing to solving community health problems related to obstetrics and gynecology diseases and methods of preventing, treating and following them up.
